THE KNOLL FAMILY: A visit to the Lone Star State

This past week Ryan and I took the boys on their very first trip to Texas. It was also our first family vacation with the four of us. We decided against flying and decided to drive b/c with all the stuff we needed for the boys it was just way easier for us to drive. We left in the evening and 19 hrs later arrived in Texas!! The boys did a very good job on our first road trip. We really had no issues in the car at all with the boys. Ryan did a great job driving the majority of the trip. I think I only drove a total of 4 hrs on the way down and then 4hrs on the way back. He drove all night long and never once complained!!!! The trip back went just as well.....just not as exciting b/c we were going back home.

Our vacation was absolutely wonderful. It was so great to see all of Ryan's family. We got to catch up with all of them. Timothy and Lincoln had a blast. They are so in love with their Uncle Steve, Aunt Cindy, and cousins Kyle and Cody!!!!! Ryan's grandparents, his Aunt Mary and her family, and his Uncle John all live in Texas. We were so fortunate and grateful to be able to see and spend time with all of them. Most of you may know this but Ryan's father passed away when he was very young and it is always so nice when we can see that side of the family and hear stories about his dad.

It was extremely hot while we were in Texas.....the temperature was at least 100 every day and at one point the car thermometer read 109 (and that was the actual temp)!!!!! We didn't let the heat stop us from having fun. We did a lot of swimming, the boys went 4-Wheel'n, we went to Sea World San Antonio, and we even made it to the San Antonio River Walk and the Alamo. The trip to San Antonio was a blast......the heat was getting to some of us but we still managed to have a great time!!!!!!
