The 4th is always a really busy time for me and my family. Since I am a member of the Jaycees and we put on the parade, beer barns, and fireworks I am always very busy the weeks, days, and hours leading up to the parade. But since we have had kids I've decided that once the jets fly over it's family time. My dad was in the Jaycees for 20 yrs and was always in charge of securing the flyover. Since I've joined the Jaycees that task has been passed down to me. It is always a last minute deal getting someone here and this year was no exception. We didn't have a confirmation of the flyover until 5 days prior to the parade!!! We were able to get someone here this year who was from Rolling Prairie. It's always nice to have someone flyover with local ties. It's a very stressful job in the Jaycees but also very rewarding. We get to meet some great people!!!! This year all the pilots and their families were awesome!!!!!!! They were all so very nice and fun to hang out with. The parade again was a success and a lot of fun for us and the kids. We ended the day at the fireworks. Timothy loved it and Lincoln slept through the entire fireworks show!!!
On Monday when the pilots left to head back we went to see them take off and check out the jets. Timothy thought that was the coolest thing ever. He LOVED it!!!!!!
Here are some pics from our fun day!!!!
